MMIP March 2022 - Billings, MT

Donation protected

Help us to put on our annual march to raise awareness for MMIP.
Starts with prayer and drumming at the Wise Wonders parking lot.
Ends at Skypoint with speakers, drumming, dancing, and prayer.

Murdered and Missing Indigenous People (MMIP) is a cause that has gained awareness in Montana and across the country in the last few years. However, there is still much work to be done. We, as a community of Natives and Native advocates, are continuing to raise awareness on this important issue, so that we can STOP the murder and disappearance of our Native brothers and sisters.

Building on the success of past MMIP events, such as the 2019 MMIW March and Line the Rims in Red, and the 2020 MMIP Virtual Community Gathering and REDress Exhibit held in downtown Billings, the Zonta Club of Billings and The Montana Native Women's Coalition have once again partnered with many community leaders and organizations to continue the annual MMIP March in Billings, MT on May 15, 2022.

This will be the third year we have helped to organize an MMIP march for the Billings area. The march will begin with prayer and drumming at the old Wise Wonders parking lot (2nd Ave N & N 31st St) and end at Skypoint (2nd Ave N & N Broadway) where we will have a variety of speakers, dancing, drumming, and prayer. We have all been through so much in the last year, this event is an opportunity for our community to come together in a safe way for healing and progress. We will be asking that all participants wear a mask so as to ensure that we continue to keep our community safe.

We are asking for donations & attendance so we can bring this event to our community.

By donating & attending, you are enabling us to successfully bring this important annual event to our community thereby ensuring that the issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples continues to be addressed until it is no longer a problem in our city, our state, our country, or our world. Funds will be used for safety expenses, permits, and payments to participants such as drum groups, singers, speakers, and more.

We know this goal is big, but we also know that it is worthwhile.

Thank you, deeply, for your efforts.

The Zonta Club of Billings & The Montana Native Women's Coalition
